Your card isn’t damaged—what you’re seeing is the protective film that covers all PTR cards in this release. This thin layer is applied during production to prevent scratches, stains, and minor wear during shipping and storage. The film also: • Enhances color saturation and gloss • Improves visual quality and gives the card a premium feel • Provides some moisture and abrasion resistance Tip: Gently peel off the protective film before use to enjoy the full look and feel of your card.
KAYOU cards are made from high-quality cardstock that is hygroscopic, which means it naturally absorbs and releases moisture from the air. When the humidity changes, the fibers in the paper expand or contract. Since the foil layer on your card doesn’t expand at the same rate as the paper, this difference creates tension between the layers, which can cause the card to bend or develop a slight curve. What you can do to protect your cards: • Use sleeves: Placing your card in a protective sleeve shields it from direct humidity and handling. • Store in albums or boxes: Keep cards upright in a dedicated card album or box. Physical protection on both sides helps prevent warping. • Control your environment: Avoid leaving cards in areas with high humidity, direct sunlight, or sudden temperature changes. Even small fluctuations can affect the card over time.
